Cyprus saw the first rain fall of the month on Wednesday, amounting to 2.8 millimetres, accounting for 3 per cent of the usual average amount for the month.
The highest rainfall during the same period was 16.8 mm in the Stavros tis Psokas area in Paphos. But in many areas of Cyprus, no rainfall was recorded as of the morning of 5 February.
